After School Plan-a-Trip
An important part of our involvement with the Danville High School is the After school Program, for special needs students. This program is geared to promote good attendance and proper behavior while in school. The students "earn" the privilege of attending special after school events if their attendance is good and they have not had any major behavior problems since the last trip.
Additionally these trips are often learning experiences themselves. For example, an event may involve planning a trip to the public library, determining what public bus to use, going to the proper stop and then going to the library and thus teaching independent living skills.
This has been a very successful program, which the Danville AMBUCS have been proud to sponsor for many years.
